The world's first coma-correcting eyepiece for Newtonian telescopes.
Features:
- Well-corrected ultra-wide 86° field with sharp star images across the field even with fast f/3 Newtonian optics
- Comfortable 19 mm eye relief with foldable rubber eyecup
- Multi-coated optics combined with high transmission glass types and blackened lens edges for maximum light throughput
- Flat field requiring less than 0.7 diopters of accommodation across the field
- Low distortion delivering constant magnification across the field
- Handy size and weight with comfortable rubber grips
- Filter-threaded barrel with safety kerfs that do not lock, slip, or tilt in the focuser
- Eyepiece cap with glow in the dark focal length
- All Houdini eyepieces feature full multicoating, blackened lens edges, high index glasses, a fold-down eye guard with a cover with glow-in-the-dark labeling, comfortable rubber grips, a barrel with kerfs for trouble-free locking, and filter threads.
- Houdini eyepieces are designed in-house and extensively optimized using proprietary Eyepiece Design Software. Every eyepiece is individually tested in Houdini's shop to ensure it meets high optical and cosmetic standards.
Will it work in my telescope?
- The Houdini eyepieces were designed for Newtonian telescopes with parabolic mirrors, but they will also work well with any telescope with a focal ratio of f/6 or slower (f/8, f/10, etc.). This includes slow refractors and most popular Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.
- The eyepiece is not recommended for use with fast telescope systems without parabolic mirror, such as f/5 APO refractors.
