Comfort Balancing solution
This 8 kg counterweight can be used for the Comfort Balancing solution. The counterweight can easily be positioned and fixed on the counterweight arms. Just feel the balance and adjust the counterweight position.
Top-mounted telescope balancing
This 8kg counterweight can be used for balancing a top-mounted telescope. Typically two counterweights will be needed – one on each counterweight arm – to get a well balanced setup. It is possible to use a 4 kg counterweight on one side and an 8 kg counterweight on the other side.
Vertical balancing (Y-axis)
This 8kg counterweight can be used with the Vertical balancing bracket (# TTS160PL-VB) to achieve perfect balance around the Y-axis. Most times a 4kg counterweight (# TTS160C-S) is best for this use.
Azimuth balancing
When using a single heavy (+15 kg) side-mounted telescope this 8kg counterweight can be placed on the opposite side (on the Vertical balancing bracket) to achieve better Azimuth balance. This is mainly to stabilize the tripod and secure that it cannot tilt over.
Specifications
- Weight: 8 kg
- Materials: Stainless Steel and Aluminum, black hard anodized
- Transport Bag size: Diameter 180mm (7inch), Length 200mm (8 inch)
