Filter Compatibility
The 7-position carousel supports 36mm unmounted filters with a standard thickness range of 1.1 mm to 2.0 mm. The design offers some tolerance for slightly thicker filters, though filters unusually thick above 2.0 mm have not been formally tested.
Filters are held securely in place using retaining rings with set screws, allowing for reliable positioning and easy installation.
Camera and Telescope Compatibility
The Ogma Filter Wheels can be easily connected to:
- All Ogma cooled cameras.
- The Newest Touptek cooled cameras that share the same front plate as OGMA.
- The older Touptek cooled cameras, through the large M42 thread around the sensor.
- Most ZWO cooled cameras that have six tapped holes distributed on a circumference of 62 mm in diameter for M2.5 screws.
- (Untested) - Most QHY cameras that have six tapped holes distributed on a circumference of 62 mm in diameter for M2.5. This will require six screws M3.
- In addition, the package includes three adapters with the most commonly used thread for astrophotography. These adapters can be used to connect the filter wheel to a variety of cameras and telescopes:
- M42(M) to M54 (M) x 1mm extension
- M54(M) to M54 (M) x 1mm extension
- M54(M) to M48 (F) x 16.5mm extension
Using with INDI?
To use the filter wheel with the INDI platform on Linux, open KStars, navigate to the profile editor, and select 'Ogmacam EFW' as your equipment. This will ensure seamless integration and control of the filter wheel within the INDI environment.
Back Focus Information
Please note that this filter wheel has a back focus of 20 mm (width). Two of the three included thread adapters will further increase the back focus of the filter wheel by 1 mm and 16.5 mm, respectively, when attached.
