Get sharper images from full spectrum cameras.
This filter is a must-have for CMOS and CCD cameras that don't have an infrared (IR) protective window above the image sensor or cameras that have been modified to become full spectrum sensitive. It is also useful as a luminance filter for monochrome cameras.
The state-of-the-art manufacturing process and the final physical characteristics, make the OGMA UV/IR Cut Filter compatible with astronomy applications. Obviously, this is also an excellent filter for general video and photography applications.
Since different wavelengths of light focus at different distances, in order to prevent blurred images while using a full spectrum sensitive camera, you will need to use either a narrow band pass filter or a UV-IR cut filter like this one.
Transmission
The following emission lines that are important for astrophotography are passing at > 95%.
- Hydrogen Alpha (H-Alpha): 656nm
- Sulphur II (SII): 672nm
- Nitrogen II (NII): 654nm and 658nm
Specifications
- Diameter: 2inch
- Thread: M48x0.75
- Physical thickness: 1.85mm
- UV cut off: < 400nm
- IR cut off: > 700nm
- Transmission of visible light: > 95%
- Transmission off band: < 0.1%
- Surface quality: 60/40 (MIL-O-13830)
- Surface polished: 1/4 wavefront
