This Long Perng 2" correct-image diagonal features a multi-coated Amici roof prism that delivers a high-contrast image. When used with refractors and catadioptric telescopes, it produces an image that is oriented properly, which means that the image is upright and correct from left to right (i.e., a correct, non-inverted, non-reversed image).
This is a great diagonal for daytime terrestrial use with refractors and Cassegrain telescopes with 2” focusers. The diagonal excels at terrestrial observing, but it can also be used for some astronomy applications to match the orientation of the star field with "correct" star maps and charts. It is not recommended for use at high magnifications or on bright targets during night-time astronomical use. Note also that it cannot be used with Newtonian/Dobsonian reflectors.
The prism housing and end barrels are made of black anodized aluminum. It includes a non-marring compression ring to securely hold a 2” eyepiece and a 1.25”-to-2” adapter with a compression ring to allow the use of 1.25” eyepieces. The diagonal also includes two end caps. The tapered 2" nosepiece is threaded for M48x0.6 and will only accept Orion 2” filters - they will NOT accept most other 2” (M48x0.75 threaded) filters on the market.
