The Long Perng 1.25" correct-image prism diagonal features a multi-coated image-erecting Amici roof prism that allows you to look into a telescope at a 90-degree angle for terrestrial and astronomical viewing. When used with refractors and catadioptric telescopes, it produces an image that is oriented properly, which means that the image is upright and correct from left to right (i.e., a correct, non-inverted, non-reversed image).
This is a great diagonal for daytime terrestrial use with refractors and Cassegrain telescopes with 1.25” focusers. The diagonal excels at terrestrial observing, but it can also be used for some astronomy applications to match the orientation of the star field with "correct" star maps and charts. It is not recommended for use at high magnifications or on bright targets during night-time astronomical use. Note also that it cannot be used with Newtonian/Dobsonian reflectors.
The prism housing and end barrels are made of black anodized aluminum. The diagonal features a non-marring compression ring to securely hold a 1.25” eyepiece. It also includes two end caps, and the 1.25" nosepiece is threaded to accept standard 1.25" astronomy filters with M28.5x6 threads.
