The Long Perng 6mm 80-degree Lanthanum eyepiece delivers an immersive and panoramic visual observing experience. With 8 elements in 5 groups including a premium lanthanum glass element, this ocular offers an wide and flat field of view along with superb correction of chromatic and spherical aberration. All glass in this eyepiece is fully multi-coated to ensure you enjoy high contrast, image clarity, and natural color rendering. It’s ideal for high-magnification deep-sky observing and is suitable for planetary and lunar observing as well.
This wide-angle lanthanum eyepiece features a long 20mm eye relief, large enough even if you wear eyeglasses while observing. And with a large 31.1mm-diameter eye lens, it’s easy and enjoyable to use this eyepiece with minimal eye strain during long observing sessions. The attractive red-and-black housing is made of aluminum coated with rubber to make it easy and comfortable to handle. It also features a tapered barrel to minimize the chance of slippage when not completely secure in the focuser.
Note: The barrel of the 1.25” Long Perng Wide Angle Lanthanum eyepieces are threaded for M28.6x0.6 filters sold by Orion – in most cases, they should be compatible with standard 1.25” filter threads from other manufacturers. The 2” version of these eyepieces are threaded for M48x0.6 and will only accept Orion 2” filters - they will NOT accept most other 2” filters on the market.
