The Explore Scientific Hybrid Finder Scope Base is designed to accept all legacy Explore Scientific finder scope brackets and all 34mm-width dovetail-type (e.g. Vixen, Synta, and Celestron) finder scope brackets.
Rugged all-metal parts with black-anodized base and chrome-plates metal screws. Safety stops prevent the finder scope from sliding through to prevent falls when attaching screws are loosened.
There are threaded holes on the left and right sides of the Explore Scientific Hybrid Finder Scope Base for desired access to attaching screws. Includes bolts and screws for mounting the base to the optical tube assembly.
Direct replacement for all Explore Scientific telescopes, allowing the use of a wide range of other-brand finder scope options.

When ordering any Vixen style dovetail base (shoe), bar or plate, please note that there are two different size standards and applications in the industry. A Vixen/Synta dovetail base such as this Explore Scientific product is smaller and generally has a slot opening to accommodate 32-34mm finder bracket dovetails. A Vixen base/clamp/saddle for mounts and telescopes is wider at 42-44mm. The two are not the same and are not interchangeable.
